The brahminical system has created a society where hard work is not valued. It has pervaded the society to MANUFACTURE CONSENT among the very people who are exploited to accept this inequality. This system is an insult to human labour. To oppose this inequality and develop the conscious to understand the inherent exploitation it is essential to oppose the practices that perpetuates these abhorrent system.e.g-brahmin officiated marriages. The essence of protest is not about literal meaning of the slokas chanted but the privilege accorded to one by birth to conduct these marriages. It's about opposing the entitled way the priest told me not to touch him. By opposing this way of marriages and other rituals we are creating an organic intellectuals to help develop an counter narrative to oppose brahminic hegemony and claim a space for our equal existence and respect. Sure our opposition will rile the privileged like you as it questions the very tradition that form the very base of your privileges.
As we try harder to move forward in a society with equality as foundational structure we can't help but hurt the privileged. If you are really into society that treats everyone equal you got to understand the nature of privileged pedestal where you stand and help people who are trying to dismantle these graded inequality and inhumane social hierarchy. You cannot get to keep your privileges and expect others to not challenge it when the aim is to create a society valuing equality. your privileges are main cause of others deprivation and it will be challenged regardless of your consent and troubles.
You can't hide behind the facade that it is customs that needs to be respected. To quote Bhagat Singh

We are opposing this system and Brahmin officiating marriages because it may look as simple and harmless tradition, but these are the tip of the iceberg of deeper malaise that inflicts this casteist society. we are opposing it to uncover and make people understand the regressive nature of these practices.
