Systematically ingrained in the minds of the people. It is through their power to restrict access to public spaces they enforce they're dominance. Their dominance and it's religious sanctity is used to normalize the caste order in our society
Babasaheb didn't just convert to Buddhism and renounce Hindu practices. It's only a part of the larger struggle to reveal the ugly face of Casteist religion masquerading in the name of Hinduism. Mahad satyagraha and Riddles of Hinduism are other side of the same struggle. When we limit our fight for access to education and political structures the evil roots of casteism continues to grow and imprint Casteist mindset in the generations to come. To put in Antonio Gramsci's view these are the super structural elements through which hegemonic idea of dominance and superiority of Upper caste are cultured and consent of the oppressed are manufactured.
If we neglect these places where Casteism is systematically breeded and ingrained in society's collective psyche we can't root out the idea of hierarchical social order even when we get to occupy powerful positions in politics and education. They will continue to pull us down and Rohit vemula and Payal Tadvi will be forced to death. Oftentimes offense is the best defence to annihilate caste. Periyar, Phule struggles like temple entry is not to get people inside temple alone but to give the assertive voice to the oppressed. It is negation of the upper castes power to dictate terms of access to public spaces. Never letting the oppressor to dictate our way of life is most important step in our emancipation. Most importantly for people representing our causes in political space every place that denies dignity and equality should be a place of battlefield. To cut the caste root and stem fight should happen parallely in every space where equality is denied. Every space where equality is denied is a battlefield for us
